Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- Chairman Kim Jong Il 's whole life was a brilliant one of the genuine leader of the people who had always kept them in his mind all his life.
It was his noble outlook on the people that the popular masses are an almighty being in the world and if the people to be called with the title of "great" exist, they are none other than the Korean people.
That's why he put up the people in the centre of all thoughts and activities, regarded their demands and will as the absolute standard in shaping any line and policy and thoroughly implemented them without an inch of deflection.
Once, a factory of high economic value was to be built in the upper reaches of the Songchon River in South Hamgyong Province.
After receiving the report about that, the Chairman said that the site was a good place for the factory, but it could affect the supply of drinking water to Hamhung citizens. And he saw to it that the site was found elsewhere.
Whenever excellent recreation grounds, including the Jongbangsan Pleasure Park and the Amusement Park of Kaeson Youth Park, were built for people, he was very pleased. When visiting a chicken farm and silk cloth and cosmetics production units, he said that they should faithfully serve the people to get their favor.
The number of units visited by the Chairman till the last moments of his life for the happiness of people while regarding the people’s happiness as his greatest joy is more than 14 290.
Such revolutionary anecdotes and words of the times "doze and rice-ball", "field haircut", "forced march in blizzards" and "forced march in the sweltering weather" came into being in the course of his devotion to the people.
His lifelong definite mission, standard and pride were only for the people's wellbeing. -0-
