Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- It has been ten years since the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un made public his famous work "Let the Entire Party, the Whole Army and All the People Conduct a Vigorous Forest Restoration Campaign to Cover the Mountains of the Country with Green Woods" on Feb. 26, 2015.
The General Secretary in the work advanced important guidelines for covering the whole country with trees and flowers and aroused our people and service personnel to the forest restoration campaign. He called for building fine tree nurseries and dynamically conducting a tree-planting campaign at every place he visited.
In March 2022, he planted two fir trees on Hwasong Hill, saying that this is not merely tree planting but work to implant our Party's policies, warm patriotism and invariable pure conscience.
Thanks to his noble patriotic will to cover all the mountains with green woods, great progress has been made in the country's forest restoration work for the past decade.
More than one million hectares of forests were created and the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery was successfully built. And North Hamgyong Province and other provinces have built labor- and land-saving tree nurseries, whose all production lines are automated and streamlined.
All provincial, city and county mother tree nurseries have necessary conditions for the production of saplings. As a result, the country's sapling output has risen by 1.5 times as compared with 10 years ago.
The provincial forestry science institutes have been built or remodeled in the country to lay a foundation for pushing ahead with afforestation and conservation of forests by dint of science and technology. And successes have been made in the work for protecting forests.
In those days many units were awarded the title of Socialist Patriotic Forest, and forest resources, which can contribute substantially to implementing the regional development policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea, were increased.
Thanks to the General Secretary's patriotic devotion and guidance, the mountains and fields of the country are getting greener day by day and the people's happy laughter resounds more loudly. -0-
