Recently excitement has grown across the DPRK over the continuous news about the inaugurations of regional-industry factories.

The factories, the first outcome of the policy of regional rejuvenation, demonstrate the firm attitude of devoted service and strong executing power of the Workers’ Party of Korea which believes a project for the good of the people should be carried out as soon as possible by making every possible effort.

This is not simply about an endeavour but it is more about boundlessly painstaking efforts that require persistent struggle and full exploitation of human, material and technical potentials.

Under the wise leadership of the WPK many models sprang up around the country last year, too, amid the struggle to realize the people’s ideals.

They include groups of regional-industry factories built in 20 cities and counties, rural dwelling houses, the Kwangchon Chicken Farm, the Kangdong Combined Greenhouse Farm, Jonwi and Rimhung streets, and the Sinpho City Offshore Farm.

Each of these structures is precious and is associated with the words “every possible effort.”

“As soon as possible”—this is not only related to the speed of construction.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un referred to his decision to vigorously push forward the Regional Development 20×10 Policy, in addition to the policy for rural development, in order to improve the basic material and cultural living standards of the local people across the country at the earliest possible date.

He was determined to carry out a revolution so daunting that anyone cannot but think it is impossible to do given the current environment and situation of the country. Greatly moved by his bold decision, all the people realized once again the Party’s steadfast will to take on any task intended for the people and implement it without delay, no matter how painstaking and laborious it may be.

When some areas of North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces were stricken by floods in summer last year, the Party Central Committee worked out a huge construction plan to turn the areas into models for putting the countryside on an urban, modern and civilized basis, more than just reconstruction.

As the country was still experiencing economic difficulties and many large-scale construction projects were under way, it would require enormous funds and labour only to build ordinary houses for the flood victims.

However, Kim Jong Un hardened his resolve to turn the flood-hit areas into fairylands that would be envied by the world and led the construction campaign in the van, ensuring that a new civilization of regional development, a cradle of new life, was brought to the victims in a few months.

The Korean people are now all out for the new year’s march with heartfelt gratitude to the Party for pushing ahead with every project desired by them and needed for them with no delay to attain a tangible result at the earliest possible date.
