Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- The games in the general field (category of ministries and national agencies) for the 14th National People's Sports Contest began in the DPRK on March 9.
The participants in the games of the general field will compete in basketball (man), badminton, shooting and Taekwon-Do and other events, divided into four groups.
In men's basketball and Taekwon-Do events held at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and the Taekwon-Do Holy House, the players have displayed sports technique, organizing ability and unity of the teams which they cultivated in the days of mass sports activities.
The Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, the Ministry of Grain Administration, the Unha Trade Bureau and the Academy of Agricultural Science took the first place in the respective groups at the shooting event held at the Meari Shooting Gallery on Mar. 12 and 13.
Cups and medals were awarded to the teams and players that proved successful. -0-
