Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- Growing in the DPRK is the pubic interest in education.
Pyongyang Municipality has directed big efforts to the assistance to education, with the main stress put on helping Changdok School, Samhung Middle School, and Changjon Primary School in Central District and other educational units stand in the vanguard of the country.
Tens of teachers with good abilities in the municipality visited schools and kindergartens in the island areas of Sinuiju City and Uiju County to hand over various kinds of teaching materials and hold a practical course on the introduction of advanced teaching methods.
Cities and counties of South Phyongan Province are striving to solve the knotty problems arising in educational units in March, a month for assistance to schools.
Those in North Phyongan Province are striving to secure educational equipment and apparatuses and various kinds of school fixtures so as to ensure the successful opening of a new school year.
Officials in Jagang Province are guiding the project for building and remodeling branch schools, out of the mind to make signal progress in the project this year. South Hwanghae Province has concentrated efforts on laying the educational foundations of rural schools while paying attention to providing teachers with good working conditions.
Besides, projects for educational institutions including the construction of university of education are progressing apace in different parts of the country. -0-
