Rodong Sinmun Calls for Boosting Growth of Agricultural Production

Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun says in an editorial on Thursday that growing stronger with each passing day are the self-confidence and exertion of agricultural officials and workers across the country determined to glorify this significant year marking the 80th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea with increased grain production. Steadfast is the determination of the WPK to consolidate the successes achieved so far and put the country's agricultural production on a track of stable and sustained development with redoubled efforts and renovation this year, the editorial says and goes on: It is the mettle and spirit peculiar to the Korean people to make uninterrupted innovations and progress and successive leap forward while achieving greater victory. All the officials and workers in the agricultural sector should glorify this significant year as a watershed to be specially recorded in the country's history by waging a more vigorous struggle, full of self-confidence and pride of bringing about radical progress in agricultural production along with the new era of rural rejuvenation. Officials of agricultural guidance organs at all levels and farms should organize and guide the farm work in a more innovative and vigorous way with the firm standpoint and resolution that scientific farming is just the greatest economy, increased production and patriotism and, particularly, channel efforts into taking scientific and realistic steps to cope with disastrous weather. All the people should turn out in assisting the farming this year. The successive good harvests in recent years have proven that there is no goal unattainable in grain production when the state investment in the agricultural sector is increased, industry renders assistance to agriculture and the whole society powerfully supports the countryside. The editorial calls for bringing a rich harvest to every farm field with extraordinary sense of responsibility and devoted efforts and greeting the Ninth Congress of the WPK as the one of victory and glory.
