Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers of the Ponghwa Chemical Factory in the DPRK are greeting the 50th anniversary of its foundation.
The factory, developed into a famous chemical goods development and production base of the country since its foundation on March 24, 1975, has made a great contribution to the implementation of the economic policy, substantially contributing to the development of the self-supporting economy and the improvement of the people's living standards.
President Kim Il Sung personally chose the site for the factory and clearly showed the road ahead of it.
Chairman Kim Jong Il organized a powerful construction force to accelerate the construction of the factory and named it, showing deep care for the training of technicians, dwelling houses for its employees and health of workers.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un assigned the factory to a task of developing and producing diverse products and establishing a new production line. And he led the factory to fulfill its mission and duty in the struggle for implementing the decisions of the plenary meetings of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee.
Under the wise leadership of the Party, the officials, workers and technicians of the factory have regarded it as their main task to increase the variety of products and steadily improve their quality and made substantial successes, thus contributing to the development of the country's chemical industry.
In those days, the factory received citations and thanks from the President and the Chairman, and a congratulatory message and a letter of thanks of the Party Central Committee on several occasions. It also won Order of National Flag First Class and such titles as Twice Three-Revolution Red Flag, Twice "Lathe No. 26" Model Machine Prize Factory and Thrice Model Technical Innovation Unit and a large number of its officials and employees were awarded high state commendations. -0-
