Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers’Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, sent a congratulatory message to Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on March 22.
The message said:
I extend warm congratulations to you and, through you, to the Central Committee of the LPRP and all its members on the 70 th founding anniversary of the LPRP.
The founding of the LPRP 70 years ago brought about an epochal turning point in the struggle of the Lao people to achieve their national independence and establish a people’s democratic system.
I am pleased over the fact that the Lao people are registering remarkable successes in the struggle to carry out the two strategic tasks of national defence and development of the state under the correct leadership of the LPRP headed by you.
Taking this opportunity, I express belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between our two parties and two countries formed and consolidated on the common journey for socialism will grow stronger in conformity with the aspirations of the two peoples, and wish you greater success in your responsible work.
