As was known through "Voice of Korea", an emergency system was put into operation in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea last year to bring all the children of the flood-stricken areas to Pyongyang and provide them with care and education in a safe and convenient environment entirely at state expense.  

Temporary learning spaces according to the level of schools were provided at the April 25 Hostel built for national conferences and events and a mobile education team was formed.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un came to the spot on August 16, 2024 to learn about the preparations for education of the students from the afflicted areas. He watched a demonstration lesson for a class of primary school pupils.

That day, he met the schoolchildren from the flood-hit areas, who were provided with the new school uniforms and school things. He helped them shoulder their schoolbags, and said that in new school uniforms they all look smart and earnestly requested the schoolchildren to study harder and train themselves to bring delight to their families and country.

Summer vacation was over and the new school term started at all schools across the country on September 1.

Students from the afflicted areas of North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces, where recovery from flood damage was in progress, studied at the special school of the April 25 Hostel. They called the school visited by the fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un "our school in Pyongyang".

It was a pity for them to leave the school after 130 days.

Teacher Sin Hyon A at the Ryongwang Senior Middle School in Central District said all the students from the afflicted areas wanted to take "Pyongyang School" dear to them, which was visited by Marshal Kim Jong Un, wholly to their hometowns, and continued:

"The special school of the April 25 Hostel was built temporarily but it had everything needed for education such as TV sets, computers, goalposts for football games, backboards, ping-pong tables, different kinds of musical instruments and educative robots.

It was a unanimous desire of the students to study at a wonderful school with all educational conditions and environment.

The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un considered even the desire of our students.

Second-year students of the Ojok Senior Middle School in Uiju County of North Phyongan Province I was in charge of wrote me that they received the school fixtures they used in Pyongyang."

On the day when the new school opened after the winter vacation, the students were very surprised to see the erasers and pointers in the classrooms and visual aids in the corridors so familiar to them and the desks with their name tags on them.

They had their first lessons on their desks as they did at the school of the April 25 Hostel dear to them. That day, they all said they are still studying at the "Pyongyang School".

Section Chief Wi Jin Hyang at the Ministry of Education said with excitement that Kim Jong Un took such kind measures in August last year, and continued:

"The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un ensured that the school fixtures, educational equipment and sporting goods used by the students were sent to the new kindergartens and schools in the afflicted areas.

So at the end of last year, express trains were formed to carry the school fixtures used by the students to the schools and kindergartens in the areas changed beyond recognition."

Indeed, there was no limit to the love and affection of Kim Jong Un who regards eduction as the most important issue for the younger generations and a bright future of the motherland.

"We are studying at 'our school in Pyongyang' today, too!"

The students of the afflicted areas trained their bodies and minds at the "Pyongyang School" as special guests under the loving care of Kim Jong Un during their stay in Pyongyang. The school will be kept as the most precious memory in their lives.
