Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- A seminar in the field of sports took place at the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the DPRK on March 25 to mark the 10th anniversary of the publication of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un 's famous work "Let Us Usher in a New Golden Age in Building a Sports Power in the Revolutionary Spirit of Paektu".

Speeches were made there by Minister Kim Il Guk, Vice-Minister Pak Chon Jong and Department Director Pak Yong Il of Physical Culture and Sports, Ri Tong Chol, president of the Academy of Sports Science, and Kim Chun Sik, director of the Secretariat of the National Sports Guidance Committee.

Speakers said that Kim Jong Un 's work is a great action programme as it indicated the path of building a sports power.

The ideas and theories advanced by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un are still shining as a powerful ideological and theoretical weapon vigorously encouraging with extraordinary traction and vitality the DPRK people and sportspersons in their struggle to put the country's sports on a higher stage, they noted.

They said that making sports mass-based and part of everyday life is an important content of the sports policy of the Workers' Party of Korea.

They noted that the Party's policy on sports is the people-centered one on sports as it indicates the way for the state to fully ensure the promotion of the people's health and physical training in a responsible manner and conduct brisk mass sports activities.

They said that to push forward with the project for putting the sports on a scientific basis is a fundamental requirement for steadily developing the country's sports technology.

They added that the realization of putting sports on a scientific basis is an important guarantee for putting the technical development of various sports events on a steady upward stage and accelerating the development of overall sports events on the basis of successes and experience.

They called upon the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports and sports guidance organs at all levels to map out and organize the work for implementing the Party's policy on sports in a far-sighted way and further boost the enthusiasm for competition among sports clubs and the enthusiasm for mass sports. -0-
