Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- Various aquaculture units in the fishing sector of the DPRK boost the production of shellfish and seaweeds.
The output of shellfish throughout the Ministry of Fisheries is going up more than three times on a daily average as compared with the same period of last year.
The Wonsan Seafood Production and Processing Station directed big efforts to selecting and securing more varieties of mussels with high productivity and took measures to introduce the scientific breeding methods and techniques.
The Songdowon Fishery Station has directed efforts to increasing the area of cultivation and the proportion of mechanization in aquaculture while conducting substantial work to build up the ranks of skilled workers to provide a guarantee for attaining the increased production goal.
The Pupho Offshore Farm has steadily improved the technical condition of tugboats and other ships to put the production of seaweeds on a high level.
The Ongjin Offshore Farm is systematically increasing the production of kelp by abiding by technical rules.
The Kumipho Fishery Station has steadily pushed ahead with the work to improve the technical skills of employees. -0-
