A national grand workshop of Children's Union instructors of schools, the first of its kind in the history of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, was held in the capital city of Pyongyang between March 26 and 29.

Present there were Choe Tong Myong, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ju Chang Il and Kim Jong Sun, Department Directors of the Party Central Committee, Kim Sung Du, Minister of Education, officials of the national, provincial, city and county youth league committees and sectors related to the schoolchildren's affairs and the Children's Union instructors from across the country.

Mun Chol, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made an opening address.

He said the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, who values the Children's Union instructors as the first teachers and political guardians of the rising generations and excellent mentors, took kind measures to organize significantly the national grand workshop of Children's Union instructors of schools and gave specific instructions on its preparations.

He declared the workshop open, believing that it would serve as an epochal occasion of making all the Children's Union instructors and officials related to the schoolchildren's affairs bring about a new development in the work of the school Children's Union, true to the idea of Kim Jong Un on training the new generations.

Then, the instructions of Kim Jong Un on the work of the Children's Union were courteously conveyed.

The reporter said the ideas and policies on the work of the Children's Union set forth by Kim Jong Un, including the idea on firmly adhering to the revolutionary character and nature of the Korean Children's Union and the idea on improving the methods of education of schoolchildren, are precious guidelines to be held fast to in the work of the Children's Union in the new era.

He continued: After spending their Children's Union days under the Party and state benefits, students grow to be heroic youth, world inventors, good artistes and promising sportspeople at the posts and workplaces for prosperity of the country and welfare of the people. This proud reality is a brilliant fruition of the outstanding leadership of Kim Jong Un who regards it as the top-priority policy to bring up the new generations of the revolution and leads it wisely.

Today, the Children's Union instructors are faced with a task to firmly prepare all the members of the Children's Union as juvenile revolutionaries and patriots who will shoulder the future of powerful Korea. All the instructors of the school Children's Union should organize work and conduct education only as taught by Kim Jong Un, holding fast to the Party's idea on the work of the Children's Union as an immutable guideline, he added.

The reporter called upon all to work more vigorously for the good mental growth of the members of the Korean Children's Union and for its strengthening and development, keeping deep in their hearts the sacred mission and duty for the Party and revolution, the country and people.

Then, there was a short course on theoretical and practical issues arising in making the Children's Union instructors bring about innovations in their work.

The workshop heard speeches of experiences.
