The construction of hospitals is promoted in Kangdong County of Pyongyang, Ryonggang County of Nampho and the city of Kusong in North Phyongan Province according to the plan of the Workers' Party of Korea on modernization of public health and preparations for their operation are accelerated.
Now that hospitals of different scales are under construction according to the regional population, the Ministry of Public Health gives precedence to the work for preparing medical workers in contact with the Ministry of Labour and the relevant provincial, city and county people's committees.
Competent medical workers of national hospitals including the Hospital of the Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences have been dispatched to the regional hospitals to transfer diagnosing and treating methods in accordance with the trend of development of modern medicine. In this way, the work to improve the technical level and qualifications of the local medical workers is conducted in diverse forms and methods.
