Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Greeting the greatest auspicious April holiday of the nation, the people in the DPRK are looking back with deep emotion on the life of President Kim Il Sung who believed in the people as in Heaven.
Regarding as his motto of life and struggle the truth that if one believes in the people and relies on them, one will always win a victory, but if one is forsaken by them, one will always suffer a defeat, the President had continued his field guidance till the last moments of his revolutionary life to find himself among the people.
He had made ceaseless journey for the happiness of the people, not minding the muddy and rugged roads, since the day he firstly visited the workers of the then Kangson Steel Plant before others, not visiting his beloved old home after liberating Korea from Japan's colonial rule.
One day in September 1948 he visited a village on the west coast to see the inhabitants drink water in a puddle and initiated a plan for a waterway project to bring life-giving water to them, thus realizing their long-cherished desire.
He also transplanted rice seedlings in paddy fields with the farmers and taught the knack of farming while walking on a footpath between rice paddies.
Whenever he visited a factory, he took oil-stained hands of the workers and watched the products they produced one by one.
Lots of touching stories were created during his field guidance such as the one in which he visited a mountain village in the northern part of the country by pushing his car caught in a marshland, saying that he should visit every place where people live. And in another story the President went into a working face where waters dripped from the ceiling, saying that he visited the mine to see the miners work in the face.
The number of units the President visited from the days immediately after the liberation of Korea to the last moments of his life is over 20 600 and the total length of the course of his field guidance is over 578 000 km.
Indeed, his whole life was the noble one of the popular leader who made indefatigable efforts for the happiness of the people. -0-
