Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- Kaesong Municipality of the DPRK has planted many trees through a mass movement.
After mapping out step-wise plan for planting trees, the municipal forest management bureau has secured saplings suited to regional characteristics while making exact demands to increase the rate of rooting.
The Municipal Welfare Service Management Office, the Songdo Foodstuff Factory and other units secured quality humus soil and properly planted trees in the forests under their charge.
Officials and working people in Kaephung and Phanmun districts introduced advanced methods of cultivating saplings and put efforts into raising the rate of rooting of pine-nut trees, chestnut trees and Evodia daniellii Benn.
Jangphung County has created a large area of forest of raw materials needed for operating regional-industry factories.
More than 1.92 million trees were planted in a short span of time, thanks to the patriotic efforts of officials and working people in the municipality. -0-
