Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Samjiyon City in Ryanggang Province of the DPRK planted more than 6 000 Picea Koraiensis on the main roads extending tens of kilometers in a short span of time.
The city set Picea Koraiensis as the main species to suit the topographical features and informed the officials and working people at institutions and industrial establishments of the scientific and technological issues arising in planting trees through a demonstration lecture.
It has ensured that all the tree-planting processes, including pit digging, is conducted as required by technical regulations, with the main emphasis on giving priority to the supply of saplings and increasing the rooting rate.
The city takes measures to cultivate and tend the planted trees in a responsible manner. -0-
