Pyongyang, April 26 (KCNA) -- A commemorative march of successors to carry forward the soul of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners took place in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, on April 25.

Prior to the march, a speech was made by Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

She said that the founding of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army was a grand nationwide event which declared a do-or-die war of resistance against imperialism under the uplifted banner of national liberation and self-reliant independence and, at the same time, a historic event that expressed the firm readiness and stand of the Korean communists to liberate Korea by force of arms and establish their own party and government.

Noting that the new generations have been entrusted with an important mission to carry forward as a permanent tradition the noble soul of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners who carved out the way of the Korean revolution by bloody battles with arms in their hands following President Kim Il Sung , she stressed the need to purify the whole soul in the revolutionary spirit of Paektu and fully demonstrate the might and mettle of youth in every worthwhile worksite for the comprehensive rejuvenation and development of socialism.

The young vanguard, full of the single mind to firmly defend the noble reputation and honor of the country liberated by the revolutionary forerunners at the cost of their blood and glorify the tradition of the steady victory of an independent power, started a dynamic march of succession at the plaza of the April 25 House of Culture.

Choe Tong Myong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Jong Kyong Thaek, director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, and other cadres warmly encouraged the participants in the march.

A column carrying portraits of Kim Chaek, Kang Kon, Kim Il, Choe Hyon and other passionate loyalists who had made along journey of the protracted bloody anti-Japanese war, holding the President as the centre of unity and leadership, advanced at the head of the march ranks.

The participants made a pledge of eternal succession before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill. -0-
