KPRA Birthday Marked in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 26 (KCNA) -- All the people and service personnel in the DPRK significantly celebrated the 93rd founding anniversary of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA).

An endless stream of people visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state.

Entering the plaza park of the palace, the visitors paid the highest tribute to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who opened up the sacred origin of the Juche revolution and provided a powerful military guarantee for the prosperity of all generations.

The people and service personnel visited the statues of the great leaders and mosaics depicting their images on Mansu Hill and in different parts of the country to lay flower baskets and bouquets before the statues and mosaics of the peerlessly great sages and pay deep homage to them.

Many people visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong, which reminded them of the strong revolutionary faith and indomitable will of the forerunners who covered the long journey of blizzards of Mt Paektu, holding the President as the centre of unity and leadership in the pioneering period of the Korean revolution.

Officials, working people and schoolchildren across the country visited the service personnel defending the country impregnably, the families of war veterans and honored disabled soldiers to share joy of the holiday.

Colorful art performances were given at theatres in Pyongyang and regions.

Open-air performances were given in different parts of the capital city, revving up the festive atmosphere.

Colorful performances were given in South Phyongan, South Hwanghae, Kangwon and South Hamgyong provinces and Nampho Municipality.

On the same day, public catering units across the country gave diverse holiday services to people and the Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum, the Amusement Park of Kaeson Youth Park and other cultural and leisure bases were full of happy laughter of the working people who spent a pleasant time. -0-
