Anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il's Field Guidance to State Academy of Sciences Marked in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 28 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place in the DPRK on Sunday to mark the 30th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il 's field guidance to the State Academy of Sciences.
Kim Sung Jin, president of the State Academy of Sciences, made a commemorative report.
The reporter said that Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the State Academy of Sciences on April 28, 1995, went round the Control Machine Institute, the Integrated Circuit Pilot Plant, the Exhibition of Scientific Research Successes, etc. to learn about the successes achieved in scientific researches, and expressed great satisfaction.
He said that the Chairman set forth the tasks that would serve as guidelines for putting the country's scientific researches on a higher stage and gave detailed orientation and ways for sprucing up the scientific district.
His historic field guidance marked an epochal occasion in developing the academy and bringing about a fresh turn in scientific researches, the reporter noted.
He referred to the fact that the State Academy of Sciences greeted a heyday of its development thanks to the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who always pays deep attention to the development of science and technology of the country.
He said that officials, scientists and technicians of the academy have made a number of scientific research achievements conducive to the economic development and the improvement of the people's standard of living over the past three decades.
The reporter called upon all officials, scientists and technicians to firmly defend the Workers' Party of Korea's policies and greet the Ninth Congress of the WPK with proud scientific research successes by fully displaying the revolutionary spirit in their research work, true to the ideology and leadership of Kim Jong Un . -0-
