The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un paid meticulous attention to kimchi, one of the most favourite foods of the Korean nation.
The following happened when he visited the Hwasong Kimchi Factory for the second time.
Officials of the factory told him that they set up stands in different parts of Pyongyang to sell the products of the factory and get feedback on them from the consumers.
Saying that the people’s tastes are as widely varied as their appearances are, Kim Jong Un stressed the need to see what kind of kimchi people favour while running the stands and, on this basis, produce kimchi to meet their tastes and needs.
He noted that the factory’s products should be popular among the people, and asked if they are tastier than the ones made by individual families.
An official replied that the employees say they are more delicious than the ones they made at home. He was very pleased to hear that.
In fact, it was not that the factory’s products tasted good from the beginning.
When he visited the factory in the previous year, he said that although the factory was producing kimchi with machines, it should not turn out kimchi of inferior taste and that its products should taste better than those made at homes and other factories. He rectified the supply system of raw materials and gave precious instructions on such matters as ensuring the standardization of production methods on a high level.
Thanks to his meticulous care, the factory was able to produce kimchi all year round, which as more delicious than the one made at homes.
During his second visit to the factory, he encouragingly said that it should make kimchi tastier than home-made ones in order to meet the growing demands of the people.
Afterwards, he appreciated the taste of whole bok choy kimchi made by the factory. Once he took a measure of analysing the whole bok choy kimchi and highly praised the factory saying that it had completely succeeded in putting kimchi production on an industrial footing.
Every outlet of the factory in Central District and other parts of Pyongyang is buzzing with customers eager to buy various kinds of kimchi it produces.
