Several classes of Songyo Senior Middle School in Songyo District affiliated to Kim Hyong Jik University of Education were provided with new desks and chairs on the occasion of the start of this new school year on April 1.
“Whenever we see those desks and chairs made to meet the pedagogical requirements, we are full of gratitude towards the deputies of different units who devoted sincere efforts to supporting education regarding it as their own duty,” said Ha Myong Hwa, principal of the school.
She related a story about how the new desks and chairs were provided.
One February day this year, deputies to the Songyo District People’s Assembly looked round the school after attending a meeting to discuss the issue of implementing the Law of the DPRK on Supporting Education.
During their visit, they could hardly leave a classroom, for it was deficient in desks and chairs.
The reason was that five senior classes were added to the school last year.
At that time, the deputies undertook the provision of necessary fixtures as their own task in order to solve all problems arising in education, big or small.
Officials of the Taedonggang Furniture Factory also scrupulously organized the work to turn out desks and chairs in a short span of time before the opening of the new school year.
“We were so moved when we saw new desks for teachers as well as desks and chairs for students permeated with their sincere efforts arrive at the school yard some days before the new school year began,” said the principal.
Now, the teachers of the school are devoting themselves to the education of the rising generation for preparing students to be dependable pillars of the country to meet the expectations of the deputies.
