Excited voices are coming day after day from the new houses of the recently completed 10 000 flats in the third stage of the Hwasong area in Pyongyang.
Jo Myong Chol, a teacher of Ragwon Senior Middle School in Pothonggang District who moved into house 5 on the fifth floor of building 2 of block 14 in the third stage of the Hwasong area, said: “I felt as if I were dreaming as I received such a splendid flat though I had done nothing great for the country. The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un shook hands with this ordinary teacher at the inauguration ceremony and embraced my daughter and affectionately patted her cheeks. Cherishing the favour shown by him all my life, I will devote everything to the education of younger generations.”
Choe Myong Hun, an equipment inspector at the East Pyongyang Thermal Power Station, said: "It is unbelievable that I own this wonderful house in the Hwasong area. I had envied those who moved into new houses, but today, we have become the enjoyers of happiness. On the unforgettable inauguration day, my son presented the respected General Secretary with a bouquet and all my family members had the honour of meeting him. I will work harder for the benevolent socialist country, keeping in mind the happiness of moving into a palatial new house without paying even a penny under the blessing of the benevolent father.”
Kim Kwang Myong, a worker of the Revolutionary Site Construction Bureau who moved into a new flat in entrance 1 of building 2 of block 12, said: “Whenever I enter this new flat, I still doubt if it is my house. I had never thought that a new flat would be allotted to a single young man like me.”
Ri Kwang Sam, a researcher at the Academy of Social Sciences, said: “I did not dare to unpack the household goods since everything was so wonderful, including sunny living rooms and the kitchen and washroom where clean water gushes out. Moreover, we have had double blessings as my wife’s elder sister’s family also moved into a new house on this street. Our socialist system for the people is the best in the world.”
