The Yangdok Hot Spring Resort in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was inaugurated in December 2019.
It is a comprehensive hot-spring cure service base and multi-functional physical and cultural complex. It is another gift presented to the people by the Workers' Party of Korea.
Many people are enjoying themselves at the resort.
The resort is associated with the great efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who worked heart and soul to provide the people with an affluent and happy life.
Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort in October 2018 when the preparations for its construction were in full swing.
He was pleased to think of the resort to be built there before long and of the people who would enjoy themselves in the resort. Then, looking at a hill near the construction site, he said in a low voice that it was a "pass of despair" and continued:
Last time when we were confirming the location of the hot spring resort, we actually had no confidence coming here. We went to a rest home across the hill to learn about gush, which was not satisfactory. Coming across it, I wondered if we were going in vain, which weighed heavily upon my mind.
Researcher Han Kyong Rim at the Academy of Social Sciences said Kim Jong Un has long made an uninterrupted study of the hot springs rich in the country, and continued:
"The respected Comrade Kim Jong Ungave field guidance to the Yangdok area on August 15, 2018, a holiday, with a plan to build a comprehensive and modern hot spring resort in Onjong-ri of Yangdok County.
He came here with a great expectation, even skipping breakfast. But he was very disappointed crossing a hill on the way from Onjong-ri to the Sokthang Hot Spring, because the accompanying officials concerned did not know the gush and temperature of the hot-spring water important in building a hot spring resort.
He decided to confirm everything in person and looked round the spot for a long time to learn in detail about the gush of the hot spring and its surroundings."
His clothes and shoes were all wet with rain but he continued to look round Onjong-ri.
When he finally found out a hot spring where water of 80 degrees centigrade was gushing out in large quantity, he beamed all over his face as if he found out a treasure.
That day he said such wonderful hot spring should be used by the people and that he decided to build a nice hot spring resort here for the people.
He guided more than 2,000 miniatures during the construction of the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort.
This is how the hot spring resort for the people was built.
Kim Jong Un takes any rough roads willingly if the people can enjoy a happier life and he finds his pleasure in doing so.
