Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- The West Pyongyang Service Brigade of Engine under the Pyongyang Railway Bureau in the DPRK is significantly celebrating its 70th founding anniversary.

The service brigade of engine has developed into a powerful railway transport base and locomotive repair base of the country while working miracles in the annuals under the leadership of the Central Committee of the great Workers' Party of Korea. The course of its development is shining as a chronicle of feats with which it has fully demonstrated the validity and vitality of the mass movements of the WPK including the Three-Revolution Red Flag Movement, the emulation movement for increased transport, the mass technological innovation movement, the movement to create model lathes following the example of Lathe No. 26 and the May 18 non-breakdown, on-schedule operation and extra-traction movement.

The employees of the service brigade of engine have always responded to the call of the Party Central Committee with increased transport successes, following the fighting spirit of the preceding generations who had taken the lead in the collective innovation movement by traveling thousands of more kilometers while saving a lot of coal in a year after calling upon railway workers across the country to turn out in the emulation for increased transport in the 1950s.

They carried out the plan for increased transport at 110.7 percent, fully displaying the spirit of advance and creative mettle of the heroic working class in the 200-day campaign of loyalty to implement the decisions of the Seventh Congress of the WPK through the vigorous May 18 non-breakdown, on-schedule operation and extra-traction movement.

The crews of the service brigade of engine are carrying out without fail the tasks for increased transport in the spirit of devotedly implementing them, while making active use of rational driving methods in the grand advance of this year for successfully completing the five-year plan.

Amid the vigorous struggle for expanding and modernizing the repair capacity with the strategy for readjustment and reinforcement set forth at the Eighth Congress of the Party, the service brigade of engine has carried out by itself the overhaul of locomotives which had been conducted only at the specialized factory.

In those days it received letters of thanks and congratulatory messages of the WPK Central Committee and was awarded Order of Kim Il Sung . It also has the honor of being the units of the Three-Revolution Red Flag and model technical innovation and produced many winners of the Party and state commendations and meritorious persons of socialist patriotism. -0-
