Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- An event took place at the National Blood Centre under the Ministry of Public Health on June 17 to mark World Blood Donor Day.
Present there were officials of the Ministry of Public Health, voluntary blood donors and employees of the center.
An address was made at the event.
The speaker expressed thanks to the blood donors who voluntarily donate precious blood to save people's lives and restore their health and referred to the purpose and significance of the operation of World Blood Donor Day and the importance of the recruitment of blood donors.
The speaker stressed that the medical workers in the field of blood transfusion should further improve the service to the blood donors and the quality of experimental tests and make positive contributions to the treatment of patients with blood and various kinds of blood products that guarantee sufficient security, thus giving full play to the advantages of our socialist health system.
