Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK), met Comrade Sergei Shoigu who visited the DPRK again, leading the delegation of the Security Council of the Russian Federation upon special authorization of Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, on June 17.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un warmly welcomed and had warm talks with Comrade Sergei Shoigu visiting Pyongyang at a significant time marking the first anniversary of the conclusion of the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation.

Comrade Shoigu courteously conveyed to respected Comrade Kim Jong Un the verbal message of Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed his deep thanks for it and sent his comradely greetings to respected Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

During the talks, the importance of the conclusion of the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership between the DPRK and Russia was appreciated again, and there was an in-depth discussion on the items of immediate cooperation and long-term plans for implementing the important matters agreed on by the heads of states of both countries through the exchange of personal letters for the last several weeks.

And some ideas and plans were discussed and agreed on for conveying forever the heroic feats performed by soldiers of the Korean People’s Army units in the operations for liberating Kursk area.

Comrade Kim Jong Un confirmed the items for the DPRK’s cooperation within the framework of the treaty between the two countries, proceeding from a correct understanding of the current situation of the special military operations and the Kursk Region, accepted the relevant plans and discussed in detail on the necessary cooperation plans.

At the talks there was a wide-ranging exchange of views and opinions of the leaderships of the two countries on the issues of mutual concern including the complicated international and regional situation, and a consensus of views was reached.

Comrade Kim Jong Un reiterated the steadfast decision and commitment of the DPRK government to invariably and unconditionally support the policy of the Russian Federation to defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity and international justice against the imperialists’ moves for hegemony and to remain true to the articles of the treaty between the DPRK and Russia in the future, too.

Comrade Kim Jong Un conveyed the noble respect for and fraternal greetings of the Korean people to respected Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and all the Russian people on the occasion of the first anniversary of the conclusion of the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership between the DPRK and Russia, and expressed his wishes that greater victory, prosperity and happiness will always be in store for the powerful Russia.

The talks proceeded in an amicable atmosphere overflowing with feelings of friendship and trust.
