Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday carries an article titled "The invincible might of the alliance between the DPRK and Russia will be more powerfully demonstrated".

The article says:

The DPRK and Russia are significantly greeting the first anniversary of the conclusion of the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries at a time when greater importance is more clearly attached to the solidity and invincibility of the DPRK-Russia friendship and solidarity.

Kim Jong Un , president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, held a historic meeting in Pyongyang on June 19, 2024, and signed the "Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation" to open a new chapter of the DPRK-Russia friendly relations.

The traditional DPRK-Russia friendship has been promoted into the genuine alliance and firm strategic partnership with the realization of independence and justice as the common idea and a reliable guarantee for the development of the bilateral relations has been provided. This is a brilliant fruition of the foresightedness and outstanding leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un and Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

The conclusion of the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership between the DPRK and Russia provided a powerful legal framework for firmly guaranteeing the future of the bilateral relations in the face of any challenge and difficulties.

This is a historic event which is unprecedented in the history of the DPRK-Russia relations spanning nearly 80 years and which all the peoples of the two countries can be proud of.

365 days since the conclusion of the new treaty between the DPRK and Russia fully proved the vitality of the treaty between the two states and the accelerated development of the bilateral relations.

The bilateral solidarity and cooperation are getting closer and stronger in all fields after the conclusion of the new treaty between the DPRK and Russia.

Visits of high-level delegations of the two countries are brisk and the prospective work to further boost the exchange and cooperation in various fields is being conducted on a wide scale.

Intergovernmental exchanges and cooperation in trade, economy, science and technology are being promoted in a wider and diversified way and mutual understanding is being unprecedentedly boosted in various fields including economy, diplomacy, education, public health and art, and mutual visits are being positively increased.

The construction of a motor bridge linking the borders between the DPRK and Russia which started in April under the deep care and expectation of the two governments is the work to build and reinforce an important infrastructure of the economic cooperation between the two countries and provide a substantial guarantee for further activating the bilateral cooperation, adding momentum to boosting the friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Russia which get close with each passing day.

The participation of combat sub-units of the DPRK armed forces in the operation for liberating the Kursk area drawing the world public attention fully demonstrated the might of the armed forces of the two countries and the absolute solidity of their alliance as the most exemplary practice of the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership.

Fine sons of the DPRK people displayed the matchless bravery and self-sacrificing spirit in the fierce battlefields, regarding the territory of the Russian Federation as the part of their motherland and the Russian people as their brothers, true to the order of the head of their state.

The complete liberation of the Kursk area achieved through the joint operation of the armed forces of the two countries clearly proved the invincibility of the DPRK-Russia alliance which is being more firmly cemented as the strategic fortress of defending justice and peace, the spirit of genuine unity and cooperation and the genuine internationalist obligation.

The DPRK-Russia relations based on the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership serve as a powerful driving force for establishing a new fair and multi-polarized international order and opening a bright prospect for mankind as they are a powerful security device for easing the regional situation and ensuring the global strategic stability.

The steadfast will and wise guidance of the heads of the states of the two countries to further consolidate the framework of the DPRK-Russia friendship and strategic cooperative relations which have been put on an orbit of comprehensive development and to defend the peace in the region and the rest of the world and international justice are the fundamental factor that helps the two countries defend their interests and bring about their prosperity.
