At one midnight in June 1976, Chairman Kim Jong Il called an official by phone who was dispatched to the Musan Mining Complex.
After acquainting himself with the overall situation of the mine, the Chairman asked him why he did not tell of the housing problem of workers.
As the official did not answer properly, hesitating, the Chairman said that the good dwelling houses for the newly-deployed discharged soldiers should be built as soon as possible.
The Chairman said that the problem is not materials or manpower, but the ideological viewpoint of the officials who lacked the spirit of serving the people, not properly establishing the revolutionary viewpoint on the masses, officials should think first about miners who produce concentrated ores before thinking about them and that officials were not paying attention to the miners' lives.
The Chairman said that the houses should be built in a cozy way at the foot of mountains before winter, single-room houses should not be built and that there is nothing to spare for the miners.
The official cherished with warm emotion the teachings of the Chairman who always leads the officials to live and work as faithful servants of the people with a correct viewpoint on them.
In less than three months afterwards, many new dwelling houses were built and miners including the discharged soldiers moved into the new houses. -0-
