The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is renovating the educational conditions and environment to raise education to the advanced level of the world.

Last year alone, more than 340 schools and over 780 branch schools were built or remodelled throughout the country.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un asked an official about the situation of schools in provinces on December 27, 2019.

At that time, schools were not measuring up to the era of national rejuvenation and their work was done passively like repairing old buildings.

After learning in detail about the state of schools from the official, Kim Jong Un called for powerfully pushing ahead with the remodelling of schools as the Party-wide work the following year.

Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, took the heavy task upon himself again for the rising generations.

One day in January 2020, a few days later, he met officials and said it is necessary to push forward with the work of remodelling schools in the field of general education and called for building or remodelling schools in ten years.

And he stressed the need to remodel schools unconditionally as planned every year by starting with the construction of the most backward ones.

On January 24, he said to officials again that the work of remodelling schools should be powerfully accelerated and underscored the need to thoroughly carry out the ten-year plan for refurbishing schools.

And he organized a powerful central headquarters for remodelling schools.

It was his unshakable will that other work can be done by posterity if we fail, but nobody can either do or supplement the work for the rising generations.

So the work of remodelling schools could powerfully progress without letup despite the worldwide health crisis and the struggle for healing unexpected natural damage.

At the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK held in late December 2024, Kim Jong Un underlined again the need to persistently and powerfully push ahead with the remodelling of schools, the most important part in strengthening the educational foundation, as a national work.

And he said it is necessary to set a bold goal for renovating all schools across the country within coming ten years and promote the work persistently to the end.

Many schools across the country ranging from the capital city to a remote mountain village are being built or rebuilt under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un who always regards the work for the younger generations as the primary of the state affairs and the most important matter.
