The delegation of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea took part in the Sixth World Conference of Speakers which was held in Geneva of Switzerland between July 29 and 31.
The conference brought together the President and the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and speakers and parliamentary delegations of different countries. It discussed issues of strengthening cooperation and multilateralism between parliaments in achieving the global peace and prosperity and the international justice.
Addressing the conference, Pak In Chol, Chairman of the SPA of the DPRK, denounced the high-handed and arbitrary practices of the imperialists plunging the world into social instability and chaos in a bid to keep their monopoly and hegemonic position and maintained that all countries should achieve their independent development and the international relations of respecting the sovereign rights of all countries should be established in order to build a world where peace, justice and prosperity are guaranteed.
The SPA of the DPRK is vigorously conducting the sovereign activities for defending the sovereignty and dignity of the country by itself and ensuring prosperity and happiness of the people, he said and added that the Korean people are making miraculous achievements in the struggle for the overall development of the state, firmly rallied around the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un with patriotism.
He stressed that the DPRK will discharge its responsibility for the genuine international justice and the global peace and stability and strengthen the development of relations with the friendly parliaments which respect its dignity and interests.
During the conference, Chairman Pak In Chol met and talked with the President and the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia, the Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia, the Chairman of the National Assembly of Viet Nam and the Vice-President of the National Assembly of Laos respectively.
At the talks they fully supported the struggle of the Korean people for building a powerful state and expressed their will to develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the assemblies.
