Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- The national economic plans for July were successfully fulfilled in various economic sectors and units of the DPRK. The key industrial sector, the main lifeline of the national economy, increased the production at the outpost of the development of self-supporting economy. Workers of the Chollima Steel Complex fulfilled their July plan by displaying the spirit of self-reliance and the indefatigable fighting spirit. The Musan Mining Complex, a large-scale concentrated iron ore producer, simultaneously carried on drilling work using rotary drill and mucking and increased the operation rate of equipment to revitalizing the production. The chemical industrial sector waged a vigorous struggle for increased production, thus bringing about innovations in the production of fertilizer and basic chemical products. The electric-power industrial sector launched a vigorous struggle to attain the Workers' Party of Korea's goal for electricity production, thus fulfilling the July plan of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry. The coal industrial sector conducted a dynamic socialist patriotic movement for increased coal production. The machine-building industrial sector, the cornerstone of the country's economic development and technological progress, strived for the production of custom-built equipment urgently needed for the comprehensive development of socialism. The workers in the mining industrial sector made innovations in the production of minerals and nonferrous metals. Transportation workers in the railway transport sector, the pilot of the national economy, over-fulfilled the freight transport plan of the Ministry of Railways. The timber production plan of the Ministry of Forestry was fulfilled in July. The successes made in the building-materials industrial sector encouraged the grand construction sites. The agricultural sector over-fulfilled its national grain production plan by concluding the wheat and barley harvest for this year at the right time and produced a large number of high-yield counties, farms, workteams and sub-workteams and rich harvesters. Industrial establishments in the light industrial sector waged a dynamic drive for increased production, regarding it as their main task to diversify consumer goods and improve their quality. Officials and workers in the fishing sector made innovations in the production of fisheries output, while giving priority to strengthening the production base. Officials and working people across the country are putting spurs to the drive for increased production and creation to successfully carry out the five-year plan set forth by the Party this significant year marking the 80th founding anniversary of the Party.
