An art performance was given at the plaza of the Arch of Triumph on August 14, adding to the joy and excitement of celebrating with splendour the significant holiday, in which the origin of all victories and glories of socialist Korea opened and 80 years of independent power rooted, as a grand political festival to be specially recorded in the history of the country.

Though 80 years have passed since the liberation of Korea, the historic foot of Moran Hill still tells about the cheers of the new Korea for the national liberator, the peerlessly great man, who was greeted for the first time in the history spanning fifty centuries. It was filled with great pride and honour of the participants who recollected with pride the history of building a thriving nation for over 80 years.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un enjoyed the performance.

When Kim Jong Un appeared at the auditorium together with Byacheslav Volodin, speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, stormy cheers were raised.

Among the audience were members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs, chief secretaries of provincial Party committees, bereaved children of those related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, officials of ministries and national agencies, officials and persons of distinguished services in Pyongyang, service personnel of the Korean People's Army, students of revolutionary schools, Pyongyang citizens and youth and students.

Members of the delegations of the State Duma and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Russian ambassador to the DPRK and his embassy officials enjoyed the performance, too.

Overseas compatriots visiting the socialist homeland on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation took their seats.

There was a collective landing stunts of paratroopers, decorating the prelude to the performance.

The paratroopers who had fallen free over the sky of 4 500 metres displayed high stunts with their controlled parachutes, decorating the nocturnal sky like dazzling flowers presented to the glorious history of the motherland.

When the national flag of the DPRK fluttered by a paratrooper approached nearer, picturing the proud days when the DPRK people have broken through all difficulties and ordeals that no one had ever experienced and advanced to the acme of a powerful country, the participants paid respect to the sacred national flag with applause and cheers.

Put on the stage were colorful numbers including all-people hymns to the leader, revolutionary songs and famous songs on the theme of patriotism.

The stage of solemn memories resounded with revolutionary songs and songs created in the period of the anti-Japanese war depicting the heroic images of the anti-Japanese forerunners recorded on the first page of the history of the Korean revolution.

The audience applauded the famous songs full of strong desire to add to the absolute dignity and glory of the DPRK with the might which has been consolidated for 80 years and demonstrated before the world for the sake of dignity and honour of the most precious country as desired by the revolutionary forerunners though many years passed after Korea's liberation.

A series of Russian songs specially prepared for the envoys of friendship added colourful decoration to the performance.

The serial songs were acclaimed by the audience as they reflected the bravery and stubbornness, ardent patriotism and optimism of the Russian army and people fighting for the sovereignty and dignity of the country and peace and security of the planet.

The performance, full of friendship and solidarity growing closer on the road of accomplishing the common cause aspiring after the building of a prosperous and powerful state, ended with the national anthem of the Russian Federation.

When the performance was over, fireworks were set off in the nocturnal sky.

The performance left deep impressions in the hearts of the audience as it represented the pride and self-confidence in the heroic course of Juche Korea which was pioneered and has won victory after victory with the soul and spirit of Mt Paektu and the firm faith and strong stamina to dynamically write the history of the great power with the ardent patriotic loyalty and indomitable will.
