The European regional internet seminar "President Kim Il Sung and Self-Reliance" was held on the 9th under the sponsorship of the European Regional Committee for Friendship with the Korean People on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Korea's Liberation.
It was attended by personages of the European Regional Committee for Friendship with the Korean People, the Korean Friendship Association and friendship organizations in Europe and other regions including Denmark, Germany, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
The seminar started with the introduction of the congratulatory letters sent by friendship organizations in different countries. A keynote report was made by the Chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association who is the Chairperson of the European Regional Committee, which was followed by speeches.
The reporter and speakers praised the great leader Kim Il Sung as the master of independent politics, peerless patriot and the greatest of great men, who pioneered the Korean revolution under the banner of independence and opened up a new era of building a prospering state with self-reliance.
A congratulatory message to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted.
The seminar also issued an appeal to the world progressive people for grandly celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
The appeal said the period between August 15 marking the 80th anniversary of Korea's Liberation and October 10 will be set as celebration months to significantly mark the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK as a grand political festival in human history and the festive mood be increased on a worldwide scale in the period.
It noted that grand international events will be held in a peculiar way in different parts of the world on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK and the activities to support the just cause of the Korean people be constantly conducted on an international scale in the celebration month.
It called on the world progressive people to collaborate and cooperate with one another to significantly celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK.
