War "Outing" of Old "British Empire" Will Not End in Pleasant Journey: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- An escort ship belonging to the carrier task force Prince of Wales of the British Navy, which was involved in the U.S.-led multi-national military drills in the west Pacific region, recently entered the Pusan operation base in the ROK.

The day before the escort ship came into the base, the British replenishment tanker Tidespring entered Pusan Port, and in September the Prince of Wales itself will reportedly enter the waters off the ROK to conduct a naval and air demonstration drill.

Britain claims that it will be an important milestone showing its firm will towards the "security and prosperity" of the Indo-Pacific region.

The main warships of the British navy, which left the distant Atlantic Ocean and conducted a war rehearsal in the west Pacific Ocean, advanced into the hotspot waters of the Asia-Pacific region. This is by no means a matter to be overlooked.

The port access of the warship of the old "British Empire" on the eve of the U.S.-ROK large-scale joint military drill Ulji Freedom Shield against the DPRK is a war "outing" of pushing the situation on the Korean peninsula and in the region to the worst phase from A to Z.

It is no secret that Britain, which dispatched the largest number of troops to the Korean war in pursuance of the U.S. in the last century, has actively aligned itself with the hostile policy toward the DPRK, acting as the first agent in the most reactionary military bloc led by the U.S.

In April 2024, the British Ministry of Defense made a bluff that it would conduct regular joint military exercises with the U.S. and Japan in the region from next year under the pretext of "tightening security in the Indo-Pacific region" and it would be a powerful signal for those trying to undermine the "international order based on rules."

And it made bellicose remarks that Britain's defense relations are not confined to distance and Britain is ready to counter any threat from all over the world.

Last year, the British ambassador to Japan said that the actions of the DPRK and China were a geopolitical danger that harms the "international rules" and in June this year the British prime minister noted that it would be a core goal of the army to restore the readiness for fighting a war."

Britain, which has justified military intervention while talking about the security relationship on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean and in the Asia-Pacific region, is finally advancing into the Korean peninsula for its full-scale implementation.

The British carrier task force, which had already conducted powder-reeking war drills frantically in the Indo-Pacific region with the U.S., Japan and other allies for several months, entered the base on the eve of the U.S.-ROK large-scale joint military drill Ulji Freedom Shield in which new manuals and methods of modern warfare are applied and even the practical nuclear war situation is simulated. Its purpose is as clear as noonday.

At a time when the situation on the Korean peninsula is inching close to the phase of dangerous conflict due to the ceaseless provocations of the U.S. and other hostile forces, the war "outing" of the old "British Empire" joining the provocations is a clear action measure of the anti-DPRK confrontational stand and, at the same time, an adventurous act to realize the unique military hegemony of the Anglo-Saxons not only in the region but also on a global scale.

The war "outing" of the old "British Empire" will never end in a pleasant journey. -0-
