Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- Thanks to the far-reaching plan of the Central Committee of the great Workers' Party of Korea for regional development and its energetic leadership, a modern offshore farm and a modern fishing-village residential district have been built in Ragwon County on the east coast as another monumental edifice in the vibrant era of the most gigantic regional transformation in the history of the country.

Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the completed Ragwon County Offshore Farm and the modern fishing-village residential district on August 26.

He was accompanied by Jo Yong Won, secretary of the C.C., the WPK, Kim Jae Ryong and Kim Yong Su, department directors of the C.C., the WPK, and Pak Song Chol and Kim Yo Jong, vice department directors of the C.C., the WPK.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was greeted on the spot by commanding officers of the unit involved in the construction.

The building of the Ragwon County Offshore Farm is this year's major project for the regional construction policy which was pushed forward with by the decision of the 11th Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK according to the far-reaching plan of Kim Jong Un for promoting the independent development of regional economy and improving the material life of regional people at the earliest possible date by effectively exploiting and utilizing the natural and geographical potential and resources in cities and counties on the coast which make up nearly one-third of the country.

Thanks to the spirit of devotedly implementing the Party's policies and great power of execution of the soldier-builders regarding the call of the Party as a battle order, modern and advanced production facilities of the farm, low- and single-storied houses of various styles and neighborhood-serving amenities have been built in good harmony with the surrounding natural landscape and along with the meaningful name of "Ragwonpho" in more than 190 days after starting the project.

Kim Jong Un said with pleasure that the groundbreaking ceremony was held at the sandy beach early this year and that the place turned already into a picturesque scene. And he added that the undertaking which had been planned since last year in order to build a fishing base which is more characteristic than the Sinpho City Offshore Farm was successfully completed, making it possible to present the fishing village in the most beautiful port to the people of Ragwon County.

He expressed satisfaction over the fact that a wonderful offshore farm and fishing village were built in Ragwon County, which is one of the tiny counties in the country and had a weak economic foundation, adding that the county turned into the one with bright prospect of development in the future and it goes well with the name "Ragwon" (paradise) both in name and reality.

He said that the amazing speed of creation at which the most backward county of the country has developed into the one with a strong economic foundation in a little over half a year would be specially recorded in the history of the regional-industry revolution in the new era and the growth and development of the DPRK and if such a remarkable speed of advance continues, our state would soon greet a great change in the whole country and it would serve as a powerful driving force for hastening the complete victory of socialism.

Going round the combined control room, raw material preprocessing plant and other production facilities, he learned about the completion of the loading test and technical interlocking test of the equipment.

He went round the fishing-village residential district.

Visiting different types of single- and low-storied houses, he referred to the measures taken by the Party to design the houses in unique way to be in good harmony with the natural environment of the shore. He repeatedly expressed his pleasure over the fact that every house in the fishing-village residential district was perfectly built, saying that construction was carried out in a very qualitative way to meet the design and technical requirements.

Appreciating that all the buildings erected in Ragwonpho are the outcome of the high ideological readiness and redoubled efforts of the Korean People's Army upholding the policy of the Party on regional development with absolute loyalty and devoted struggle, he said that we should never be satisfied in the work for the people and that even though the production buildings and dwelling houses built here are excellent, wonderful monumental entities that surpass them should be constructed in future.

He set forth the important tasks to be carried out in steadily pushing ahead with the construction of regional-industry factories and rural dwelling houses on a high level.

Referring to the long-term goals of the policy of the WPK on regional development again, he said that the epochal tasks of regional rejuvenation to be welcomed by the people will be successfully fulfilled only when all the regional builders make redoubled efforts with the ambition and courage to learn from and overtake the architectural culture and new civilization of the capital which have been put on a spectacular level through the construction of modern 50 000 flats.

He stressed that it is necessary to regard the demand and interests of the people as absolute standard and make sincere efforts in setting a site and erecting a building in the future, too, just like we built a seafood production base for the county residents in the best place of Ragwon County.

Enjoying a bird's-eye view of Ragwonpho together with officials, he discussed a new long-term plan for cultivating the economic potential of the county.

Saying that he would like to see the cheerful faces of the people in the county as soon as possible and the evaluation of the plan would be made by the residents, he gave an instruction to hold the inauguration ceremony of the Ragwon County Offshore Farm in a meaningful way in the near future. -0-
