Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a message of greeting from D. Medvedev, president of the United Russia Party, on September 5.
The message said:
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un ,
I extend my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The founding of the DPRK on September 9, 1948 served as an event of eternal historic significance.
The Soviet Union's first recognition of a new state that was founded on the Korean peninsula has a very symbolic meaning.
Since then, the Republic has firmly held its position as a powerful sovereign state.
Under your leadership the Republic is demonstrating its solidity against external threats and making a constructive contribution to ensuring the security in Asia.
The comprehensive strategic partnership between Moscow and Pyongyang based on the tradition of friendship and good-neighborliness is steadily growing in the interests of the fraternal peoples of Russia and the DPRK.
In this course, the fruitful cooperation between the United Russia Party and the Workers’ Party of Korea is playing an important role.
I am convinced that close contacts between the two parties will promote many-sided mutual cooperation between the two countries in the future, too.
