Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- The Workers' Party of Korea has firmly ensured the dignity and eternal prosperity of the DPRK and magnificently put its reputation and prestige on the highest level in the world by bolstering up in every way the most powerful self-defence capacity in the course of dynamically leading the country and the people to great victory and glory under the uplifted banner of independence for 80 years. It serves as an extraordinary feat and immortal honor that will shine forever along with the history of the Juche revolution.

Giving the unique tremendous vitality and driving power to the course of our revolution pioneered with arms, our Party is imposingly building and steadily increasing the invincible military power, the powerful eruption of the DPRK's courageous spirit and self-respect that no one can resist and demonstration of most righteous strength, with its transparent faith and through the resolute struggle.

The military hardware exhibition Defence Development-2025 opened with spendour in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK, on Oct. 4, demonstrating the development of the national defence capabilities accelerated beyond precedent and limit thanks to the matchless determination and outstanding leadership of the great Party Central Committee to surely build an eternally prospering socialist power, putting forward the self-reliant defence as the mainstay for defending and developing the revolution,.

The venue of the exhibition opened in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK is full of latest defence assets, an ensemble of the Juche-oriented defence sci-tech strength, including ultra-modern weapon systems developed into the pivotal military hardware of our armed forces in line with the Party's grandiose strategy for the development of national defence.

The guard of honor of the Korean People's Army lined up to greet the head of state.

Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, arrived at the venue of the opening ceremony of the military hardware exhibition Defence Development-2025.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un reviewed the guard of honor of the KPA and the glorious colours of the three services.

Kim Jong Un took the platform together with members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee and leading officials in the fields of defence science and munitions industry.

All the participants broke into enthusiastic cheers, looking up to Kim Jong Un , the supreme representative of the mightiness and dignity of Juche Korea and the banner of all victories and glory, and paid the highest tribute to him.

Attending the opening ceremony were members of the central leadership organ of the Party including leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs, officials of the Party Central Committee, major commanding officers of all military and political organs of the Korean People’s Army, meritorious officials, workers, scientists and technicians in the field of munitions industry, leading officials of ministries and national agencies, teaching staff and students of military education institutions.

Jo Chun Ryong, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, made an opening address.

The speaker introduced the latest level of the innovative growth of the DPRK's defence capabilities and expressed belief that the exhibition, which displays the entities of strength associated with the staunch spirit of self-reliance and ideal of Koreans, would make visitors have new experience as a member of the powerful state and inspire them to win a greater victory, and declared the exhibition open.

Kim Jong Un delivered a significant speech.

He said that the exhibition features the recent results of the important projects that we have pressed on with in order to put the structure of the DPRK’s military capabilities, with its nuclear deterrent as the backbone, on an increasingly modern, advanced footing.

Since the initial days of its founding our Party has consistently prioritized the Juche-oriented defence industry, laying the groundwork for its independent development and setting one ambitious goal after another for its steady growth, he noted, adding that recently, in less than one year, this industry has achieved notable successes again, and he is sure that making public those successes for our people to see constitutes the highest praise for our Party’s 80-year-long history.

He noted that our Party was born with the absolute mission of taking full responsibility for the destiny of the people, so it is a natural duty of the Party and its unique mode of activity to direct its main efforts to building the most powerful defence industry in the world and developing it without let-up so that it can protect the dignity and security of the nation, defend the rights and interests of the people and secure their future.

Referring to the proud history of the development of the munitions industry which started with the founding of the Party and has made a long journey flushed with victories under the guidance of the Party, he noted:

In recent years, military hardware capable of actively and effectively coping with the changing aspects of modern warfare has been newly developed or upgraded, and AI technology and other latest sci-tech findings have been widely introduced, with the result that the feasibility of their application not only to the present battlefield but also to the future one has been confirmed in view of the capability of fighting a war. This is an important feature of the development of our style of defence technology.

I think that everyone present here can clearly see that our defence industry is now focusing on continuous upgrading and making a leap forward in order to protect the security environment of our state; it is doing so by relying on its self-supporting foundations, through a unique course of development and by highly ingenious methods of development.

This shows that we can review the work of the eighth-term Party Central Committee with pride in having attained its goals by fulfilling its ennobling mission and responsibility for the state and the people.

Noting that the security environment and instability we are in at present never allow us to feel relieved or complacent even for a moment in bolstering up the national defence capabilities, he analyzed the U.S. real aim of arms buildup which poses a real and serious threat to the security of the DPRK and the regional countries.

He stressed that the DPRK will surely take additional military measures to counter it and if the U.S. persists in the dangerous arms buildup in blatant disregard of the regional states' security concern, the developments will further propel the DPRK to take relevant military and technical measures aimed at removing the new threats and maintaining the balance of power.

Saying that everyone will soon know the new goals to be set forth for the defence technology sector and the aspect of its development at the next stage, he affirmed that our powerful assets for national defence capability will develop more rapidly without a moment of delay, and the cause of the WPK for strengthening the war deterrent for self-defence without let-up will continue to follow the glorious road of victory.

The participants responded with enthusiastic applause to the speech of Kim Jong Un who solemnly clarified the iron-willed declaration of the WPK which would more dynamically lead the tremendous development of the national defence capability and the great leap forward in building a powerful and modernized army for the everlasting victory and prosperity of the DPRK founded in reflection of the general will of all its people.

Kim Jong Un looked round the venue of the exhibition together with leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs.

He said that he took great pride in covering the responsible and glorious road before the country and the rising generations, witnessing the tremendous defence capabilities achieved with warm heart and passion at an important moment of reviewing the 80-year-long history of the WPK's building and visualizing the journey of creation and change to be more resolutely made by the WPK.

He stressed that the remarkable progress of the self-supporting defence industry and the rapidly expanding sphere of modern defence science and technology are the strength and the mettle of the DPRK achieved by our great people who have defended the Party's line of self-defence with unprecedented toughness and absolute support and encouragement despite the trials and hardships that no one in the world has ever experienced.

Looking round the venue of the exhibition, the participants were struck with admiration from the beginning to the end at the entities of our defence capabilities, another development made just in a year.

The military hardware exhibition Defence Development-2025 which opened to add excitement and joy to the whole country ahead of the auspicious 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea is a significant occasion that heralds the changes of our armed forces to be stronger along with the eye-opening advance and development of the revolution in the national defence industry in the new era led by the great Party Central Committee. -0-
