Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- The splendid opening of the military hardware exhibition Defence Development-2025 is demonstrating the overall powerful military muscle of the DPRK and instilling the dignity, pride and invincible spirit of victors into the people and service personnel of the DPRK greeting October of glory. The exhibition comprehensively shows the remarkable development of the cause of building a modernized army led by the ever-victorious Workers' Party of Korea.

Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the destroyer Choe Hyon of the Navy of the Korean People's Army together with leading officials of the Party, government, defence and security organs on Oct. 5 according to the schedule of visit related to the military hardware exhibition.

Those who participated in its opening ceremony were also among the visitors.

The destroyer is a remarkable latest success of the Juche-oriented warship-building industry and a symbol of modernity and advanced character, and military and technical edge of the rapidly developing naval forces of the DPRK. The harbor, where the destroyer was moored, was filled with great emotion and joy of the participants greeting the glorious moment of receiving the great iron-willed commander again.

A ceremony of the Navy was held to welcome the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un 's visit to the destroyer.

After receiving a salute from the head of the guard of honour of the KPA Navy, Kim Jong Un reviewed its march-past.

Jo Chun Ryong, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, made a speech.

Kim Jong Un mounted the destroyer.

He looked round main weapons and equipment and various places of the ship, guided by the captain.

He said that the super-powerful warship magnificently launched in the sea of the country in the historic year marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of our glorious Party is a clear demonstration of the development of the Juche-oriented armed forces and another great proof of the validity and vitality of the Workers' Party of Korea's line of self-defence.

He noted that displaying the image of Choe Hyon in every place where the sailors of the destroyer are on duty is to make the sailors of the new generation embody the brave stamina and noble spirit of the anti-Japanese fighter and regard them as permanent nutrition for the indomitable fighting spirit. The strongest power of the defender lies in ideological uplift aimed to carry forward the soul of the revolutionary forerunners like a lineage before the might of the military hardware operated by the warship, and this is the core in bolstering up the naval force, he added.

He praised the sailors of the destroyer for striving to fully acquire the professional qualifications necessary for the operation of the ship, expressing expectation that the officers and men of the destroyer would become pioneers not only in preparing themselves in political, ideological, military, technical and physical aspects but also in creating the culture of the sailors, navy civilization in the new era.

Saying that the tremendous ability of our navy should be exercised in the vast ocean to thoroughly deter or counter and punish the enemy's provocations for the sovereignty of the state and its security interests and for the eternal peace of the sea of the country, he noted that our Party would continue its struggle without even a moment's stagnation for the overall and accelerated expansion and growth of the naval combat force defending the core of the national rights.

Through the visit to the destroyer, the visitors witnessed the development of the Navy led by our Party and the high level of naval culture, and felt with excitement the great heyday of strengthening the Navy and its rosy future.

That day a reception for service personnel of the Navy was given by the Central Military Commission of the Party on the destroyer. -0-
