Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang International Figure Skating Festival took place at the Ice Rink on October 7 and 8.
The festival, themed "Joy of October on Ice", brought together figure skaters from the DPRK, China, Russia and Uzbekistan.
There was a figure skating demonstration.
Through colorful numbers, DPRK figure skaters showed their beautiful and graceful rhythmic movements, extending the highest glory to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has provided a firm guarantee for the prosperity and happiness of the country and the people by developing the Workers' Party of Korea into an invincible guiding force with his outstanding idea and energetic leadership,.
Foreign figure skaters, too, showed their high skills.
A closing ceremony took place on October 8.
Present there were Vice-Chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee Pak Jong Gun who is vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission, officials concerned, officials, coaches and players in the field of sports and working people in Pyongyang.
Also present there were members of the Russian embassy here.
Diplomas were awarded to the players who showed rich artistic representation and high skills at the festival.
Minister of Finance Ri Myong Guk who is chairman of the Skating Association of the DPRK, made a closing address. -0-
