Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Meets Premier of State Council of People’s Republic of China

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, met and had a friendly talk with Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, who is paying an official goodwill visit to the DPRK as the head of the delegation of the party and government of the PRC, on October 9.

Warmly welcoming Premier Li Qiang's visit to the DPRK, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un conveyed his heartfelt thanks to General Secretary Xi Jinping for dispatching a high-level delegation together with a prestigious art troupe to make the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK more significant and more harmonious.

Kim Jong Un said that the visit to Pyongyang by Li Qiang and the Chinese party and government delegation marks an important occasion of showing the invariable support and special friendly feeling towards the WPK and the government and people of the DPRK and the will of the Chinese party, government and people to attach importance to the traditional DPRK-China friendly and cooperative relations and further develop them.

Li Qiang said that the China-DPRK friendship is entering a new chapter of the development of relations under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, adding that it is the consistent and steadfast strategic policy of the Chinese party and government to successfully defend, consolidate and develop the China-DPRK relations.

Discussed at the talk were issues arising in mutually expanding high-level visits, strategic communication, multi-faceted exchange and cooperation to develop the friendly and cooperative relations, the precious asset common to the two parties and the two countries, in a wider and comprehensive way.

Saying that it is the steadfast stand of the WPK and the government of the DPRK to further develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and China as required by the times, Kim Jong Un affirmed that the WPK, the government and people of the DPRK, together with the Chinese comrades, would promote the more vigorous development of the DPRK-China relations in the common struggle for accomplishing the socialist cause.

He hoped that the Chinese people would successfully fulfill the 14th Five-Year Plan and achieve greater successes in the course of building a modern socialist state in an all-round way under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with General Secretary Xi Jinping as its core.

The talk proceeded in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
