Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- The celebrations held with splendor on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the glorious Workers' Party of Korea were recorded in the history of the country as a grand political festival which demonstrated to the whole world once again the absolute dignity and might of the Party and the state shining for centuries and gave full play to the ardent trust and loyalty of all the people across country to the Party.

Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Sunday congratulated the participants in the celebrations and those who made a contribution to splendidly celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK through the military parade, grand mass gymnastics and artistic performance, public procession and torchlight gala which depicted in a grand epic style the immortal revolutionary exploits of the WPK and enjoyed the grand mass gymnastics and artistic performance "Long Live the Workers' Party of Korea" together with them.

When the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un took the tribune, all the participants broke into stormy cheers of "hurrah!", with the great excitement upon having the honor to greet again the supreme representative of the great Party dignified with invincibility and the DPRK, the glorious socialist motherland, and the dear leader of the people.

Kim Jong Un extended warm congratulations to all the participants who splendidly celebrated the 80th founding anniversary of the great Party with ardent loyalty and patriotism.

Taking the tribune were commanding officers, officials and creators who made a contribution to the preparation of the successful celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK.

Prior to the performance, Kim Jong Un expressed thanks to all the participants in the celebrations and service members, saying:

Esteemed Pyongyang citizens,

Our admirable students and young people,

Our enthusiastic artistes,

Our stalwart and courageous officers and soldiers of the parade units,

This time we have had splendid and perfect celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of our Party amid the extraordinary enthusiasm and renewed passion of all the people in the country, attracting the interest and attention of the world.

I really appreciate all of you for participating in the great political and cultural festivals, which have been held on a national scale to mark the anniversary, and working hard to make a success of them. You have made a substantial contribution to demonstrating the prestige of our Party and state.

The grand events took place one after another for several days, and each time I saw in all the spirited participants their genuine sincerity for, and dedication to, the Party and the state.

Our holiday was really a fantastic occasion which witnessed a succession of great political and cultural festivals.

The festivals climaxed with the grand mass gymnastics and artistic performance, the parade of our armed forces, the public procession of Pyongyang citizens and the torchlight procession of youth and students.

All these events required greater artistic skills and cultural attainments than ever before, not to mention a strong sense of organization and strict discipline.

The weather was unfavourable throughout the events, yet everybody performed their role both perfectly and creditably.

All the events were impeccable as a whole and in minute detail, satisfactorily showcasing the cultured aspects of our state and its mightiness.

Indeed, thanks to your utmost sincerity and devoted efforts, our celebrations of the holiday were wonderful, and this demonstrated the cohesion, potentials and might of our state adequately and successfully.

The weather was chilly owing to autumn rain and cold wind, but I felt my body and mind burning with fervour. I think this was because I deeply appreciated your spirit of serving the state.

Throughout the celebrations I felt so with deep gratitude and utmost sincerity.

This is by no means a rhetorical expression.

Today I have arranged this meeting at which all the participants in the celebrations are present, because I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks and convey my feeling to you all.

I am so grateful to all of you and you are so precious to me.

On behalf of the Party Central Committee and the government of the Republic, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks once again to you for having decorated the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the Party as the most splendid of all festivals.

When Kim Jong Un concluded his speech, all the participants broke into thunderous cheers of "Hurrah!"

They extended the unbounded gratitude and highest tribute to Kim Jong Un who meticulously led them with the great love and trust to demonstrate to the whole world the great history of our Party and the validity of its cause through peculiar political events and attributed all the successes to them with great affection.

The grand mass gymnastics and artistic performance took place.

All the performers, who had the honor of giving the performance again in the presence of Kim Jong Un , expressed their happiness and excitement through dynamic gymnastics, songs and beautiful dances.

The performance impressively reflected the stirring reality of the great era of Kim Jong Un for realizing all the ideals of the people and the dream about comprehensive national rejuvenation by dint of self-reliance along with the immortal history of the WPK, which has dynamically carried on the journey of absolute service for the people since the day of its founding when it upheld the red flag of Mt Paektu for the people, and a new heyday of strengthening the whole Party.

The performers highly lauded the truth that there are today's peace and happiness and the bright future and prosperity of all generations to come thanks to Kim Jong Un , the dignity, destiny and future of Juche Korea with songs in praise of the motherly Party resounding century after century.

The performance fully demonstrated the strong desire and will to dynamically advance toward the victory of the socialist cause, holding higher the red Party flag of Juche, under the leadership of the Party Central Committee in any storm and stress. The performance ended with the song "Our National Flag" which instills the great enthusiasm for the revolution and patriotism into the people.

At the end of the performance enthusiastic cheers burst out again and fireworks were displayed in the nocturnal sky in October.

Repeatedly appreciating that all the events to celebrate the auspicious holiday in October fully demonstrated the might of single-minded unity, the absolute strength and irresistible force of the DPRK, Kim Jong Un gave warm encouragement to the performers and audience again.

All the participants firmly pledged to make a genuine contribution to the prosperity of the country by continuing to thoroughly apply to their practical activities the patriotic and sincere efforts and revolutionary spirit of creation displayed for the grand festival in October, cherishing the great love and trust shown by Kim Jong Un . -0-
