On November 16, 2016 the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un paid a visit to the May 27 Fishery Station in the east coast of the DPRK.
Looking round the station, he asked its manager about the fish catch and said with satisfaction that he has lately received a report on the fish catch of the station every evening, and that he feels most pleased when he read it.
Feasting his eyes on a stream of fish cascading down onto the outdoor unloading ground, he said: I visited the army unit defending Jangjae Island days ago and I found sandfish was also there. It seemed to me that the fishery station directly under the unit was catching sandfish a lot. I’ll visit the station one day.
One of the accompanying officials told him that the manager of the fishery station under the unit is the younger brother of the manager of the May 27 Fishery Station and that the brothers have a lot of rivalry with each other in the competition between the stations.
Laughing heartily to hear him, he said affectionately that it was a good thing that they were making painstaking efforts to overtake each other in implementing the Party’s policies.
He was so satisfied with the brothers who were working in the fishing sector directly related to the people’s livelihood that he bestowed loving care on them again and again.
They participated in the Fourth Conference of Active Fishermen in the Korean People’s Army held in December that year and were awarded high official commendations.
They are now devoting their wisdom and passion to contributing to improving the people’s living standards by catching more fish.
