The Kangdong Combined Greenhouse Farm strives to raise the levels of modernization, intensive farming and industrialization, with an eye to minimizing the cost of production and boosting yield per unit area.
Nutritive liquid is recycled in a scientific and technical manner through filtering, disinfection and addition of nutritive elements, and greater efforts are made to produce more agrochemicals with locally available raw materials.
The introduction of the box-based vegetable production technique and mixed cropping of leaf and root vegetables and fruit-bearing vegetables lead to an increase in per-unit yields.
A wide variety of fresh vegetables including cucumber, tomato, red pepper and bok choy are produced at the farm.
The Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm turns out different species of vegetables, which are supplied to the residents in the city of Hamhung and other parts of South Hamgyong Province.
The farm gathers a large amount of vegetables every day by paying close attention to cultivation, temperature, humidity, disease and pest control, effective utilization of space and care of plants according to their growth conditions.
The Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm works to increase the varieties of functional vegetables.
This year alone, it has adopted scores of species including legume and balsam pear, yielding good results.
With new species being acclimatized to the regional climatic conditions, it increases the area for the cultivation of functional vegetables.
Broccoli and other fresh vegetables are growing well in its greenhouses.
The fresh produce is supplied to the baby home, orphanage, middle school for orphans in the city of Chongjin and other units.
