We are greeting Mother’s Day of the year when the dignity and prestige of a powerful state is being demonstrated to the full and the whole country advances towards a rosy future full of hope and aspirations.

Under the warm love and care of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has crowned Korean mothers with honour and glory for their love and devotion for the family, society and the motherland, they are leading a worthwhile life in this blessed era.

Saying that a revolutionary starts his revolutionary career with his mother’s encouragement, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un personally designated Mother’s Day so that all sons and daughters across the country can have a precious moment of appreciating their mothers’ love and congratulate them. Once he looked at a beautiful flower and said that it was just the flower to be presented to mothers on Mother’s Day.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clarified specific tasks and ways for mothers to cultivate their mental and moral traits befitting the era of building the most developed country so as to fulfil their responsibility and role as good hostesses, daughters-in-law, wives and mothers. He also directs close attention to providing every necessary condition for the upbringing and education of our young generation.

There are so many stories of patriotic mothers: Those who bring up their children to be upright and take up the posts of national defence as soldiers; those who render family affection to the war veterans and honoured soldiers with disabilities; those who bring up children without parents with all their sincerity; those who set examples in offering their support to major fronts of socialist construction and in contributing to the building-up of national defence capabilities and those who over-fulfil their production quotas each year. If we are to enumerate all their good examples, the list is literally endless.

Although what they did were the things that they were supposed to do as citizens of this country and as mothers, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un honours those mothers with titles of Labour Hero, Winner of Communist Mother Honour Prize and Merited Person of Socialist Patriotism.

With the deep sense of gratitude to the loving care of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , mothers in the DPRK are calling out in chorus:

There are many countries in the world that have their respective mother’s days to celebrate but boundless is the happiness of mothers in the DPRK as we hold in high esteem respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , the father of one big socialist family, who renders such great love unheard-of in the world history – all for the sake of the future of the country and revolution.
