A meeting was held at the Hall of Women on the 17th to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea.
Present there were Kim Jong Sun, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the Central Committee of the Women's Union, and officials and members of its organizations in the city of Pyongyang.
Jon Hyang Sun, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea, made a report.
She said the 80-year-long history of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea is a proud history in which it has been strengthened and developed into a revolutionary organization boundlessly loyal to the cause of the Party under the wise guidance of the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
Today the Women's Union is faced with an honourable task to defend and glorify forever the undying exploits performed by the peerlessly great men for the development of the Juche-oriented women's movement and carry forward the proud 80-year history with greater victory and glory, she said and stressed the need to steadily strengthen and develop all the women's organizations into an ideologically pure entity and organizational integral whole intensely loyal to the idea and leadership of the Party.
