The Korean Central News Agency made public a report on the 5th under the title "Proud Results in the Struggle for Sustainable Growth of Agricultural Production", which dwelt upon the material and technical foundations of the rural economy further strengthened and the grain production radically boosted after the presentation of the rural revolution programme in the new era.

The report said:

Remarkable results promoting the progress and development of the socialist countryside are being brought about multiply and consecutively when the overall prosperity of our state is further accelerated and the brilliant entities of miracles and changes are springing up like mushrooms after rain in all parts of the country under the leadership of the Central Committee of the great Workers' Party of Korea.

The entire officials, Party members and other working people have made a significant progress in the irrigation construction including the completion of the project for irrigating over 500,000 hectares of paddy fields set forth by the Party, attained the annual goals with success according to the farm machine development plan and turned more than 13,500 hectares of dry fields into paddy fields.

The Party's policy on boldly changing the agricultural production structure and powerfully promoting the rice and wheat farming has been implemented consistently, with the result that scientific farming methods and experiences have been adopted and a solid foundation laid for revitalizing the wheat production and the fields under wheat cultivation constantly expanded. This year alone, over 30,000 hectares of fields have increased as compared with last year.

The grain production has increased with the overfulfilment of the national grain production plan every year amid the heated drive for scientific farming and rich harvest, producing a greater number of high-yielding cities and counties, high-yielding farms, workteams and sub-workteams and high-yielding persons as against before.

The proud successes achieved in the major thrust area of the socialist economic construction are a proof of the validity and vitality of our Party's rural revolution programme in the new era and a brilliant fruition of the revolutionary creative mettle and the spirit of self-sustenance of the Korean people translating the plan and determination of the Party Central Committee into a great change and brilliant reality.

The agricultural foundation of the country strengthening day by day while making a sustainable and stable development and the increased grain production firmly convinced the officials and working people once again of the belief that the Party's policies are a science, truth and victory and of the absolute trust that everything goes well if they do as required by the Party's policies.

All the officials, Party members and other working people in the field of agriculture are replete with burning enthusiasm to vigorously open a new turning point of rural development of Korean style by successfully implementing the rural revolution programme in the new era true to the idea and leadership of the great Comrade Kim Jong Un, the report added.
