The Democratic People's Republic of Korea built tree nurseries in different places and is stepping up the afforestation and the landscaping of towns and countryside.
One day in December 2015, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited a tree nursery and said:
As forest restoration is a patriotic work of lasting significance and a long-term undertaking that is carried out with an eye to 10 years in the future, we should never give up though no success is visible after planting trees just for one or two years. We may undergo hardships today, but we should plant and tend trees with all sincerity picturing to ourselves the future of the country to be covered with thick woods.
Lecturer Ri Jong Sun at the Korean Revolution Museum said:
"That day, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that if the whole country is turned into forests and gardens, the younger generations will greatly benefit from it and that looking at the green trees in the distant future, they will talk about how just and correct the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea was, which regarded tree planting as an important state affair.
I am very pleased to find a job for success in the forest restoration, a patriotic undertaking of lasting significance we must do for posterity, he said and added that it is a pride and happiness."
It is Kim Jong Un who defined the work of tending green woods of the country as a patriotic undertaking of lasting significance we must do for the rising generations.
Under his leadership, the Korean people are working hard to afforest and landscape the whole country.
