Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- Leading newspapers of the DPRK carry editorials on December 17, the anniversary of demise of Chairman Kim Jong Il , the greatest memorial day for our Party, state and people.

Rodong Sinmun in its editorial stresses that even though years have gone by and the country has underwent changes since the day in December when all the people deeply grieved over the biggest loss, the holy name and benevolent image of Kim Jong Il are shining as a symbol of invincibility of Juche Korea and banner of its eternal victory, and the tremendous might of his ideas and exploits is powerfully inspiring the DPRK people in their revolutionary struggle.

All the officials, Party members and other working people are now seething with enthusiasm for building the most powerful country in the world, the ideal society for the people to be envied by the world on this land, true to his patriotic desire to build a powerful country, the editorial says, and goes on:

The socialist country of Juche is a noble patriotic legacy of Kim Jong Il .

His revolutionary career is a life of the outstanding thinker and theoretician who endlessly glorified the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as the eternal guiding idea of the revolution in the era of independence and indicated the road for the final victory of the socialist cause, the independent cause of the popular masses.

The prestige and status of the DPRK and the dignity and glory of its people have reached their zenith in this century. And the prominent ideological and theoretical exploits of Kim Jong Il serve as the cornerstone of the above-said dignity and honor.

It is his great feat that he laid an eternal cornerstone for the Korea-style socialism by consolidating the single-minded unity of the Party and revolutionary ranks in every way.

The single-minded unity is the most valuable wealth of our revolution bequeathed by Kim Jong Il .

It is his immortal exploit that he fully demonstrated the dignity and might of the DPRK and laid the firm foundations for prosperity by dint of self-support, holding high the banner of Songun and self-reliance.
