The Workers’ Party of Korea is accelerating the accomplishment of the epoch-making cause of reconstructing the regional economy on completely new foundations, while taking steps towards the comprehensive prosperity of Korean-style socialism in a responsible manner. Kangdong County greeted the day of inaugurating its regional-industry factories and leisure complex, adding to the joy of the second inauguration season in implementing the regional development policy which has come unfailingly thanks to the Party’s guidance.

The modern light industry factories and multifunctional bases for cultural life have been built in 20 cities and counties where thrilling blasts went off in groundbreaking ceremonies in reflection of the great joy, redoubled self-confidence and soaring spirit brought by the creative struggle in the first year of regional transformation. They are significantly decorating the closing days of the historic year 2025, demonstrating the definite trend of irreversible change and development.

An inauguration ceremony of regional-industry factories and leisure complex in Kangdong County for the Regional Development 20×10 Policy was held with splendour on December 15.

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, attended the ceremony.

When Comrade Kim Jong Un arrived at the venue of the ceremony, all the participants broke into stormy cheers of “Hurrah!”

They extended the highest respect and glory to Kim Jong Un who is ushering in a great heyday of changes, when the outcomes of the gigantic revolution dearly settle in the people’s life racing against time, after setting the implementation of the regional development policy in the new era as a solemn oath and pledge the WPK made before the country and the people.

Present at the ceremony were senior officials of the Party, government and military organs, members of the Party central leadership in Pyongyang, chief secretaries of the provincial Party committees, officials of the Party and power organs in Pyongyang and Kangdong County, working people and officers and men of the construction units.

Ri Il Hwan, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, delivered an inaugural address.

The speaker said with excitement that another splendid inauguration ceremony was being held in Kangdong County, where the start of the grand construction in 2025 was declared and the first modern regional hospital was built.

He said that those factories and leisure complex are the precious assets brought by the energetic leadership of Kim Jong Un who dug the first spadeful of earth to signal the start of the projects at the groundbreaking ceremony and visited the construction sites on several occasions to guide them step by step. And he warmly congratulated the people of Kangdong County who would enjoy a new beautiful and civilized life under the warm blessing of the great father.

He also extended warm thanks and encouragement to the soldier-builders, who successfully carried out the projects for the regional development policy, always remembering the great trust of the Party which made them stand in the vanguard of the struggle for regional development, and the officials and workers in the relevant sector, who made positive contributions to the construction with a high sense of responsibility for implementing the Party’s decision.

It is the consistent goal of Comrade Kim Jong Un’s policy on regional construction to make a nonstop leap forward with the passage of years in promoting the people’s wellbeing and to orient and expand this undertaking to the direction of providing them with all the elements necessary for promoting regional development and improving the people’s living standards, he said. He referred to the fact that Kim Jong Un energetically led the construction of the light industry factories and leisure complexes conducive to the improvement of the local people’s material life and their moral and cultural growth so that they would be perfectly built as a symbol of Korean-style civilization and development.

He stressed that the eye-opening changes in Kangdong County, where a modern hospital, regional-industry factories and a leisure complex have been built at the same time in less than a year, would tell forever of the greatness and tremendous vitality of the Party’s regional development policy along with the happy looks of the people enjoying a civilized and abundant life.

The epoch-making cause of fundamentally transforming the regional areas is just entering a track of overall expansion and upswing amid the successive yearly groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies, the speaker said, ardently calling upon everyone to think and act in accordance with the great patriotic will of Kim Jong Un and devote wisdom, strength and enthusiasm to the rejuvenation and prosperity of the country.

A large number of balloons floated up and fireworks went off in the sky over the venue of the inauguration ceremony overflowing with great delight and emotion of the residents in Kangdong County who were significantly celebrating another auspicious event, to be specially recorded in the development history of the county, having the benevolent father of the large socialist family in their locality once again.

All the participants extended their boundless gratitude to the great artist of creation and construction and the outstanding leader of the people who is glorifying the annals of great changes for regional development in the new era.

Expressing his surging emotion of witnessing the worthwhile struggle aimed at great changes across the country undergoing another proud process amid the full support of the people, he said that to achieve a leap forward in the regional areas and provide the people with precious entities of rejuvenation and civilization is a sacred undertaking which our Party serving the people should unconditionally and consistently push ahead without a moment’s stagnation or delay.

The true value of the regional-industry revolution should be verified not only in creating material wealth but also in remoulding the ideological consciousness of officials and working people in keeping with the demand of the new era, he said, adding that the spirit and fighting principle of upholding the Party’s policies should remain unchanged, but the goal and sphere of creation should be steadily updated and elevated.

Saying that the regional people are the beneficiaries and enjoyers of the regional development policy in the new era, he stressed the need to invariably preserve and glorify the original features of Korean-style socialism where the Party policies are mapped out for the people and the people enjoy happiness to their heart’s content thanks to the policies.

As the valuable successes and experience increase and the people’s dreams and ideals grow higher, our Party will lead to constant upswing and expansion the era of dynamic struggle going beyond all precedents and limits in terms of the speed of advance and changes for national rejuvenation and the breadth and depth of innovation and creation with its stronger will and strenuous efforts, he stressed.

The participants in the inauguration ceremony went round the factories embodying modernity, economic profitability and prospectiveness to suit the actual conditions of the area and the leisure complex which will promote civilized cultural life, delightedly sharing with each other impressions on new life, new civilization and new wellbeing brought by the policy of the WPK.

The grand inauguration of the regional-industry factories and the leisure complex in Kangdong County serves as another significant occasion in greatly increasing the joy and patriotic enthusiasm of the people across the country who are advancing towards the Ninth Congress of the WPK amid firework display celebrating the successes in implementing the regional development revolution.
