Five scientists were selected as the best IT experts in 2025 at the "National IT Successes Exhibition--2025".
Among them is Jong Chol, Section Chief of the Pedagogical Science Institute of Kim Il Sung University.
He was born in the city of Hamhung, South Hamgyong Province. He graduated from Hamhung Middle School No. 1 under the well-regulated genius education system of the country and developed his talents at Kim Il Sung University.
After finishing the university and postgraduate courses, he started his career as a researcher at the Pedagogical Science Institute.
He made his first research finding over ten years ago. He proposed an online lecture model by information network and multimedia, designed a real-time online lecture system and introduced it into the online lecture room in the e-library of the university.
He intensified his research in hearty response to the decision of the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea on raising the fierce flames of the radical improvement in education, regarding it as the general goal to make education the one which can be fully entrusted with our future.
On the basis of analysis of the world trend of developing education, he racked his brains and devoted his passion to the research for improving the contents and methods of education and the teaching management system in keeping with the pedagogical requirements.
In those days, Jong Chol developed various IT products such as the children's growth development general management information system "Kidunggam", the upbringing management information system of the Pyongyang Baby Home and the homepage of the Pyongyang Orphanage.
He also wrote a number of reference books and received national sci-tech success introduction certificates at festivals and exhibitions including the National Sci-Tech Festival.
Now he is playing an important role in the introduction of electronic means into state business including the intelligent medical service system of advanced world level and the national educational information system.
He became one of the best IT experts in 2025 for his core role in the development of the national educational information system "Kyoyuk" 1.0, one of the 10 best IT products.
He is working hard to attain another new goal so as to make new research findings in education and science.
